Quintina Jeffries: Mother Killed In Benton Harbor Home; Boyfriend Commits Suicide

Quintina Jeffries, 29, was shot to death in a Benton Harbor, Michigan home on December 8, 2019. Her boyfriend, who police said shot her, killed himself days later.

Quintina Jeffries was a divorcee looking forward to a new start for herself and her 8-year-old son in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

Tina, as her family called her, was also trying to navigate work at a security company, being a provider and her romantic relationship with her boyfriend.

She was “a hard worker and took pride in being self-sufficient,” according to her obituary. “Her favorite pastimes were reading the Bible and nurturing her relationship with God, she loved growing her plants, manicuring nails, caring for dreads and she adored her dogs Chloe, Lola and Kashee.”

But despite making plans to cohabitate, her relationship was troubled. 

On Sunday, December 8, 2019, she and her boyfriend Samuel Brown were in the process of moving in a home together when The got into an intense argument. 

Police said Brown pulled out a gun and shot her four times, including in the head.

When first responders arrived, Jeffries was pronounced dead at the scene, but Brown was nowhere to be found.

In the days following the murder, Brown was active on social media, posting videos and grieving messages about his former girlfriend, according to media reports.

After attending a Benton Harbor-Dowagiac basketball game, Brown took his own life, according to police.
