Beyonce Wint: 19-Year-Old Woman Shot Dead In New York

Beyonce Wint was a 19-year-old woman from New York City. No one knows how she ended up upstate in Troy.

On Tuesday Sept 17, 2019, she was found dead in the street.

Troy DeWolf of the Troy Police Department said an investigation is ongoing and that the State Police Special Investigation Unit is helping with the case.

The mysterious murder has law enforcement agencies joint forces to try to find out who killed Wint.

Wint’s body was discovered around 3 a.m. by a neighbor leaving for work who said she saw a woman who was bloody.

“We believe that this girl probably knew her attacker,” said DeWolf.

Crime analysis indicates that a handgun was the weapon used, according to DeWolf.

According to police Wint had a history with a number of group homes in Jamaica, Queens and in lower Manhattan.

"We do not believe that the crime was random," DeWolf told reporters.

Wint’s whereabouts before her slaying only lead to more questions.

Police  say she spent several days just before her death in Burlington, Vermont.
