Angenae Walker: 22-Year-Old Washington Woman Killed In New Orleans 1 Day After Birthday
Angenae Walker was looking forward to visiting New Orleans to celebrate her birthday. The then-21-year-old Washington state resident had reportedly posted on Facebook about her upcoming trip.
Walker had made a few bad decisions in her life, but she was determined to do better, relatives told local media. She was really looking forward to her trip to Louisiana for her birthday.
Her celebration would be short-lived. Walker’s body was found in a Harvey, Louisiana townhome after a double murder.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, who is investigating, the case, said that a man was also shot to death in the residence on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019. He was identified as Cheston Isom, 27, a Seattle man with ties to the New Orleans area.
Authorities are being tight-lipped on what they know about the slaying, pending their ongoing probe. What they have divulged though is that Isom was a convicted felon and fugitive who was wanted by Washington law enforcement in connection with a shooting and Seattle home invasion.
“It’s been a roller coaster,” Walker’s sister, Gabriella Webb, 29, of California, told the New Orleans Times Picayune.
“She was a very bright, smart young lady,” said Webb. “She worked multiple jobs to make ends meet.”
Authorities are still trying to piece together Walker’s relationship to Isom and when the two arrived at the Harvey townhome.
Isom’s body was found on the first floor while Walker’s was upstairs, according to local media.
