Now Tallahassee authorities have announced that they have a suspect in custody. They also have shared more about Salau’s interactions with them before she went missing.
“Salau first contacted TPD on June 6 to report a possible sexual battery that occurred the previous evening,” Tallahassee police said in a news release. “Soon after, as officers followed up on her case, Salau's family reported her missing. TPD intensified its efforts to locate Salau. Outreach was initiated to her known associates and victim advocate groups to which she had been referred. Additionally, officers checked locations she and others without permanent residences frequented. A missing person flier was widely disseminated, garnering national attention. A team of more than a dozen TPD investigators worked tirelessly to find Salau.”
Before she went missing, she shared on social media that she was given shelter by a man who appeared to be “a man of God,” she said on social media. She added that this man went on to sexually assault her.
The authorities said that they were able to apprehend a man who took Salau his home days before she had to flee.
“The resident of the Monday Road home, Aaron Glee Jr., fled to Orlando on a bus prior to TPD's arrival. At the request of TPD, the Orlando Police Department was able to intercept Glee and take him into custody. TPD immediately sent investigators to Orlando to further the investigation. Based upon evidence recovered at the scene and information gleaned in Orlando,.”
Glee was charged with murder and kidnapping, according to Tallahassee police.
She was last seen on video camera in a convenience store in Tallahassee, Florida, on June 6, 2020. The images, shared on social media, appear to show Salau by herself. The post says the address was 1621 N Monroe St, Tallahassee FL 3230.
Along with Salau, the body of another woman, a 72-year-old volunteer for AARP, was also recently found in the same wooded area of the city, according to law enforcement.
“At approximately 9:15 pm Saturday night, June 13th, TPD investigators arrived in 2100 block of Monday Road in the course of a follow-up investigation in a missing person case. During the course of the investigation, two deceased people were located in the area," Tallahassee PD said in a news release.
"The deaths are being investigated as homicides and have been turned over to TPD’s Violent Crime Unit," the Tallahassee PD said in a statement. "The investigation is ongoing and currently there are no more details available. More information will be released as the investigation progresses."
What is not known is what happened to Salau in the hours before she vanished. She did leave behind a number of tweets about her living conditions, which investigators are looking over.
On June 6, Salau tweeted that she was a victim of sexual assault after trusting someone she had just met. The following is a string of tweets she left before she disappeared.
“Anyways I was molested in Tallahassee, Florida by a black man this morning at 5:30 on Richview and Park Ave.,” she tweeted about 3 p.m. “The man offered to give me a ride to find someplace to sleep and recollect my belongings from a church I refuged to a couple days back to escape unjust living conditions.”
“He came disguised as a man of God and ended up picking me up from nearby Saxon Street. I entered his truck only because I carry anything to defend myself not even a phone (which is currently at the church) and I have poor vision. I trusted the holy spirit to keep me safe.”
When we arrived at his house he offered me a shower and I thanked him and shower and he gave me a change of clothes. He exposed himself to me by peeing with the bathroom open obviously knowing I was out of it. I told him about a sexual assault situation that happened...
To me in March involving Ivan a 32 year old Ghanaian man who currently schools at FAMU and lives at 211 Jakes and Patterson (I am currently 19 years old) who tried to force me to give him oral sex and then continued to harrass me thru text and knocking at my door for days.
Going back to the situation that happened to me this morning, I did not fall asleep. He then asked me if I wanted a massage at this moment his roommate who was in the house was asleep. I was laying on my stomach trying to calm myself down from severe ptsd. He started touching-
My back and rubbing my body using my body until he climaxed and then went to sleep. Before I realized what happened to me I looked over and his clothes were completely off. Once I saw he was asleep I escaped from the house and started walking from Richview Road to anywhere else.
All of my belongings my phone my clothes shoes are all assumably at the church where I've been trying to track since I sought spiritual guidance/ refuge. I will not be silent.
Literally wearing this man's clothes right now DNA all over me because I couldn't locate his house the moment I called the police because I couldn't see.

Tallahassee authorities believe that the sexual assault described by Salau may be unconnected to her murder.
“At this time, there is no indication that the original battery Salau reported is related to her death. The information and description Salau provided to police and posted on social media prior to her disappearance does not match the person ultimately found to be responsible for her murder,” Tallahassee PD said.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about this case to please call them at 850-891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
