Dina Taylor: 39-Year-Old Maryland Woman Shot Dead In Domestic Dispute
Dina Taylor, 39, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland was in love. She posted on social media that the man of her dreams was in her life.
“Only in my dreams did I ever think that I’d be getting married in a beautiful mansion to the most kind, gentle, dedicated, & loving man that I would ever meet,” she wrote on Facebook in August 2021, according to BreakingAC.com.. “When they say dreams come true, please believe them.”
But that dream quickly turned into a nightmare.
Police in Prince George’s County responding to a “domestic-related incident” found Taylor fatally shot around 2:20 a.m. Thursday morning September 16, 2021, on a roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after that, authorities said Taylor’s fiance, Dionte Sims, 28, of Upper Marlboro, barricaded himself inside his home for several hours before he was taken into custody, according to the Washington Post.
A preliminary investigation found that Taylor was shot during an argument, the newspaper reports.
Sims is charged with first- and second-degree murder, among other charges, including shooting at an officer. He is in jail and bond has not been granted, according to the Post.
