Jada Simmons: 20-Year-Old Mother Shot Dead At Georgia House Party
Jada Simmons, 20, was shot and killed at May 16, 2021 at a house party outside Milledgeville, Georgia. The Jones County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the murder.
Jada Simmons of Milledgeville, Georgia was the type of person that if you walked in a room she was in, she'd make you feel welcomed. That's what her friend Ashley Smith told local media.
Like Smith, Simmons was a young mother with a beautiful 1-year-old daughter.
The two were at a weekend party together around 3 a.m. on May 16, 2021 with other friends when a tragedy occurred. Simmons suffered a fatal gunshot. As of this writing, no one has stepped forward and no motive in the shooting has been released.
"She was a mother. She was a young mother. She had her whole life ahead of her, her baby's life ahead of her," says Smith told WMAZ.
The Jones County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the shooting, which has been labeled a homicide by the coroner.
The sheriff’s Office released the following statement on the shooting:
Tragically early this morning around 3:00 a.m. during a large party being held at 810 Nitrogen Road here in Jones County, Jada Simmons of Milledgeville Georgia was senselessly killed by a yet unknown assailant. Many of the people present were not from here but rather the Milledgeville area. My Deputies and investigators have just finished executing a search warrant at the crime scene and will continue working to identify the person(s) responsible for taking Jada's life and bring them to justice. Jada was a Mother of a one year old and she had the rest of her and her child's life to look forward to. We will not stop until we find the person responsible. Please pray with us for Jada's family and friends to help them through this trying time.
