Yolanda Brown: 53-Year-Old Missing Georgia Woman Found Dead Inside Vehicle
On September 12, 2022, Yolanda Brown’s crashed vehicle was found in Newton County, Georgia. Inside the damaged car was a body, whom investigators identified as Brown.
Investigators have identified the body of a woman who disappeared after leaving a pub in Hapeville, according to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.
Yolanda Brown, 53, disappeared after leaving an Atlanta-area bar on Saturday, September 3, 2022.
On September 12, her crashed vehicle was found in nearby Newton County. Inside the damaged car was a body, whom investigators identified as Brown.
"This is not the outcome they were hoping for, yet the family is grateful for the community support and outpouring of love they have received during this difficult time," Brown's family said in a statement released by the Davis Bozeman Law Firm.
The cause of death had not been disclosed at the time of this writing.
Friends and family have told investigators that on the night in question, Brown went to meet a man at a bar, Irish Bred Pub in Hapeville, Georgia, right outside Atlanta.
Brown’s son, Joshua Doughty, who lives with her, said after she left her Covington home for the 40-minute drive to Hapeville, that was the last time he saw her.
"She always wants to be someone’s friend…and I am 100% convinced that her friend making is what lead to her being missing right now," her sister Mickie Nutall told reporters. "She doesn’t disappear ever for this amount of time."
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been enlisted to launch probe into Brown’s death.
