Makayla Adams: 20-Year-Old Woman Stabbed To Death; Ex-Boyfriend Charged
Makayla Adams was a young mother and wife who was trying to raise a child amid an evidently tumultuous relationship.
“She was giving. She was caring. She was smart, and she just became a new mom,” the victim’s mother Monica Miner told Fox 5 Las Vegas. “She was a great mom, and she loved that baby more than anything in the world.”
She was set to turn 21 later this month, but now instead of celebration, the family is in mourning.“She had her whole life to live,” said Krystal Adams, Makayla’s cousin,” told TV station KLAS in Las Vegas. “She left behind a little girl, a family that cares about her so much. This is not fair. She didn’t deserve this. She was a beautiful person.”
Family members told local media that Makayla and her husband, Michael Ricks, 24, had recently broken up.

“She was trying to get away so she could start a new life for her, and her baby,” Miner told the TV station. “He didn’t let her do that, and he didn’t even care enough about his daughter not to do it in front of her.”
