Brittany Hunt: 23-Year-Old Mother Shot Dead While Driving With Her 2 Kids In Car
Brittany Hunt, 23, was behind the wheel driving her two 5-year-olds and an unidentified adult on Monday, March 8, 2021 when she was fatally shot in Lumberton, North Carolina.
Brittany Hunt, 23, was a lively mother who did all she could to take care of her 5-year-old twins in little Lumberton, North Carolina.
A relative called Hunt “the life of the party,” according to a news report. Now her family and friends are left to plan a celebration of life and push for justice for Hunt, who was a doting mother.
She was behind the wheel driving her two 5-year-olds and an unidentified adult when she suddenly lost control and crashed Into a canal.
The accident happened on Monday, March 8, 2021, in Lumberton, North Carolina, according to WMBF.
Police officers who responded to the scene discovered that someone had fired shots into the car, fatally striking Hunt.
She died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The children and adult passenger were transported to the hospital. It is unclear whether they were seriously injured in the crash.
“The life of the party — she had a smile that would light up the whole room,” Kawanna Hunt, Brittany Hunt’s cousin, told WBTW. “It’s going to be hard to like, get over, you know, going to the family events and not seeing her at all.”
Police have opened an investigation and are seeking witnesses to the incident.
“I just want justice for my babies,” Kawanna Hunt told WBTW. “You know, that was tragic. Like for them to see, to be the car, and their mother get killed in front of them. All I’m asking is justice for my babies and their mom, like give them some type of peace.”
